The documentary takes place in and around the iconic pink high-rise blocks in Brøndby Strand, on the West side of Copenhagen's outskirts. Here, the film's main character, Vivian has lived on the 11th floor for forty-two years - with a magnificent view that reminds her of her previous jet-set life in New York in the sixties.
But a black cloud now hangs over the block and over Vivian's happy life, because the building is to be demolished, and Vivian doesn't know where to move. She hums the old American hit song for her little dog Davina: "... Que sera, sera, whatever will be will be, the future is not ours to see, Que sera, sera..."
She clings to the optimism and colourful lifestyle that she has mastered so well since her youth. One’s make-up must be intact, regardless of whether you are twenty-five, or like she is seventy-five.
The film holds unique archive footage. Vivian and her family have filmed their lives for four generations, with special focus on the family's passion for skating, which they have practiced as a sport and as an art. The family's life has always been characterized by dreams on the ice, with all the adventure that comes with it. You have to watch the film to find out if the adventure on the 11th floor will continue or will sink into rubble, along with the demolition of the high-rise blocks.
